Fish Food Carrier for Artic Group

Gepubliceerd op 28-04-2015

VEKA Shipyard Lemmer’s most recent assignment is for the Norwegian Artic Group, involving the shortening of an existing body of a 3250T Bijlsma Trader to a nearly 70-metre-long Fish Food Carrier.

Shortening the body presents a huge challenge. In the dock in Lemmer over 20 metres will be removed from the existing body after the summer of 2015, and subsequently the stern of such a 450T will have to be moved over a distance of 20 metres. For this, a specialised heavy haulage company will be brought in.

After the fore has been reattached to the stern, the ship will be completed as a standard cargo ship, but with client-specific adjustments, for after the trial run and delivery of the vessel the client wishes to be able to install his own loading, unloading and transportation systems for supply of the fish farms in the Norwegian fjords.

As a whole, this will be a challenging project on VEKA Shipyard Lemmers’s excellent reference list.
