Since 2004, VeKa has also been active as a project developer for seagoing ships. The take-over of Bijlsma has made it possible for us to apply the concept, which had up to this point been used for inland navigation, in for seagoing vessels as well.
This also means that the various types of seagoing ships can also be delivered to our clients as turnkey solutions. Our order books for seagoing ships are currently well filled.

In March 2004, VeKa took over the large shipyard from the Bijlsma Group in Lemmer. This brought an end to the Frisian family company, but preserved the shipyard for the future. Arend Bijlsma and Joep Berghuis are in charge of day-to-day operations.
